Please click on the GENERAL INFORMATION tab on the right hand side of this page for course information.

BCF has led highly successful Return to Teaching Courses since 1999.  During that time our programmes were rigorously evaluated by the TDA on several occasions and achieved outstanding grades for the quality of our provision.

Our Return to Teaching Course takes place in Sheffield. The course involves a mixture of TWO taught days, home study and school placement and provides strong guidance and support in helping you back into the profession for which you were once trained. It provides up-to-date information regarding all the changes that have taken place at national level and practical guidance on the latest methodology you will need to be a successful and confident teacher once again.

How helpful can the course be to you?....take a look at our testimonials:

"This is a very good course which supports returning teachers on a very individual basis. Jane is a very knowledgeable person who speaks a lot of common sense and clearly passes on her enthusiasm for the teaching profession. I highly recommend it for anybody thinking of returning to teaching." (Douglas Neagle, returning teacher, London 2015)

"Excellent...covered up to date information and strategies with an excellent book and consultant. Real life examples and skills, up to date information presented in a personalised way.''  (Karen Nelson, returning teacher, Sheffield 2014)

"Very engaging and interesting. The handouts and documents sent by email were useful and relevant. Jane's interest in the individuals on the course was very helpful and it was encouraging to know we have her support and understanding." (Camilla Martin, returning teacher, London 2015)

"Without this programme I would never have had the confidence to get back out there-and now I'll be teaching next term! So happy!' (Lianne Doyle, 2015)

"I now have the confidence and desire to apply for a teaching role, in fact, I aspire to be a head in the future. I wanted to find out if the change of phase from secondary to primary was right for me and, after completing my placement, I know that it is.' (Jane Scott, returning teacher, Sheffield, 2017)
